3 days snowmobile trip to Isfjord Radio and North Pole Camp. Experience magnificent Arctic scenery close-up and join us on a snowmobile expedition across Nordenskiöld Land. The trip starts from Longyearbyen and heads first eastwards to Tempelfjorden and our North Pole camp. On your second day we continue westwards to the beautiful Isfjord Radio on Cape Linnè. We cover more than 200 km on snowmobiles over the course of three days.
Experience magnificent Arctic scenery close-up and join us on a snowmobile expedition across Nordenskiöld Land. The trip starts from Longyearbyen and heads first eastwards to Tempelfjorden and our North Pole camp. On your second day we continuw westwards to the beautiful Isfjord Radio on Cape Linnè. We cover more than 200 km on snowmobiles over the course of three days. We ride over glaciers, mountains and frozen fjords, and visit thrilling historical sites. You will discover the beautiful landscape in blue and white and you can experience stillness and light that is difficult to find in other places. If you are lucky, you may even glimpse the “king of the Arctic”, the polar bear! Combined with our unique accommodation, you will enjoy a level of quality and comfort that is unexpected so far into the wilderness.
DAY 1: At 10:00 am our guide will meet you in the reception at your hoel. You will have time to sit down with the guide, talk about the coming trip, possible routes and needed equipment. After the meeting we will give you warm clothing, like the overall and winter boots, and then head to the snowmobiles. It is time for the Adventure Across the Arctic Land! After a lesson for snowmobile drive and safety issues, you will head out to the wilderness and towards Kapp Line and Isfjord Radio. You will enjoy an expedition lunch on the way surrounded by the arctic silence and the vast white landscape. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, our guide will chooses the day’s route to Isfjord Radio. Before the evening you will arrive to Isfjord Radio, our remote boutique hotel and the last frontier before Greenland. Here our staff will warmly welcome you to the luxurious hotel and serve you a delicious arctic inspired meal. If you are up to it, you can even try a warm sauna and quick swim in the Arctic Ocean – a true sign for Polar Adventurer. What a way to finish an adventurous day!

DAY 2: Breakfast is served from 08:00. After a substantial breakfast, it is time to head into the beautiful landscape of Spitsbergen. Our guide chooses the day’s route depending on the weather and snow conditions. If the weather is good, you can have a change to visit the Russian mining town Barentsburg, which is a home for some 300 persons. Explore the life of an isolated arctic town and visit some Russian buildings. Here you can really feel the mining history of Spitsbergen. The route takes us via Longyearbyen and before evening you will arrive to Tempelfjorden, and our expedition camp; North Pole Camp. In heated tents, with cots and warm sleeping bags, we will spend the night the same type tents that they today use at the North Pole camp; “Barneo”. After settling in, the chef invites you to the dining tent for a delicious dinner. Warm up your finger around a cup of coffee and embrace the unique surroundings and arctic nature around you.

DAY 3: Breakfast is served from 08:00. After a substantial breakfast, it is time to head into the beautiful landscape of Spitsbergen. Today you will explorer more of the nature around Spitsbergen and drive over glaciers, past snow covered mountains and frozen fjords. You will visit the beautiful blue Von Post glacier front. Here - if you are lucky - you can see the polar bear hunting on the ice. You will enjoy an expedition lunch on the way. Arrival in Longyearbyen during the afternoon.

NOTE: Driver’s license for car or motorcycle is required for driving snowmobile. Your driver’s license must be presented before the tour starts.
This trip is not suitable for persons suffering from back pains. Pregnant women cannot participate on any snowmobile safaris arranged by Basecamp Spitsbergen.
