The Adolf Gun is the only intact battleship canon from the 2. World War and is open for guided tours.
Adolfkanonen at Trondenes is one of the largest battleship cannons on land in Europe during WW2. Gun Battery was built by the German occupying forces during World War 2 and with its 4 cannons were battery at Trondenes the most powerful in Hitler's Atlantic Voll. Adolfkanonen is currently an open museum. In bunker beneath the cannon's an exhibition that shows the gun's history, construction and planned use. There is also a "coastal artillery collection" of equipment and instuments used during WW2 and later during World War 2 pg later by norwgian coastal artillerymen. Adolfkanonen stands today as the only restored cannon of its kind in the world! Guided tours summer 2017: June 1- 18 June. Every day at 13.30 June 19- 13 August. Every day 12:00 13:30 16:30. 14 August-31 August. Every day at 13.30 Entrance: Adults NOK 80, - / Children NOK 40, - Own transport required. Meet at dedicated meeting point at Trondenes.
