This activity does not include bus transportation. Please arrive at Camp Tamok, 15 minutes prior to the start of the activity.
Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and outfitted with the essential gear including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, ensuring comfort and warmth for the adventures ahead. After preparations and necessary instructions on how to control and steer the sled, you’ll first set off on your dog sledding adventure!
Dog Sledding
On the dog sled ride, you will pair up with another guest, with the two of you sharing one sled. One takes on the role of musher, guiding a team of energetic huskies through the snowy terrain, while the other enjoys the ride seated on the sled.
Halfway, you will have the chance to switch roles, allowing each person to experience both the thrill of leading a team of huskies and the joy of being a passenger.
After the dog sled ride, you will have the opportunity to visit the dog yard and you can relax and warm up with a hot meal and drink by the open fire inside one of the lávvus (indigenous Sámi tent). During your meal, a camp host will inform you where and when you are expected for the second part of your activity: a visit to the Snow Park.
Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park:
Enter the park and discover the magic of the snow and ice sculptures. Wander around by yourself through a mesmerizing display of snow and ice sculptures, a snow maze and explore our two domes. Marvel at the amazing art coming to life with light in its natural surroundings of pristine nature and peaceful Arctic landscapes.
Encounters with Arctic Wildlife:
Get close to the two most iconic animals of Northern Norway: cuddle and take photos with our huskies and go visit the reindeers near the Snow Park.
This advanced dog sledding adventure has been labelled as a challenging activity with high difficulty level. The tour requires strength and fitness from all our guests, and a good physical condition is necessary to participate.
Some parts of the trail can be covered with a fresh layer of snow or go uphill which means in both cases you will have to help the dogs to push the sled. The trail can be narrow and have sharp bends, which requires a good balance to steer the sled.
