Dog sledding near Røros (Roros)
You will drive your own team of 5-6 friendly, hard working Alaskan Huskies. The guide drives the first team, and the participants' teams will follow our guide. You do not need previous experience from dog sledding, just the will to experience something new and exciting. After the tour, we gather around the fire in our lavo (cone shaped tent). Over a hot beverage, we tell you more about our dogs, how we train them, and our long distance racing.
Alaskan Husky Tours is ran by Markus Ingebretsen, who have lived several years in Alaska, and raced the longest and toughest race in the world, the 1600 km long International sled dog race Yukon Quest. Placing 6th in that race, and placing top 5 and 1st in many other races around the world.
Alaskan Husky Tours offer half day trips, day trips and events for groups of 100 persons. We have dog cart trips in the summer and fall on beautiful old gravel roads. We have canoe and kayak trips. Snowshoe trips and team ski competitions are popular activities for groups.
Gourmet meals prepared over the fire in the lavvo (cone shaped tent) by professional chefs from the hotel. We have a small lavvo for 20 persons, and a big lavvo for up to 130 persons.
We live in a beautiful wilderness area 20 minutes from Roros which has railroad and direct flights from Oslo in the morning and evening, as well as train connections to Trondheim and Oslo
The kennel has a dressing room with handicap toilet and winter coveralls, winter boots, mittens and winter hats for 100 persons.
