Bergen's oldest known tavern, the Altona, dates back to approx. the 17th century.

We offer a wide selection of fine wines and spirits in historic surroundings. The cellar has a rich history, and carries memories of this with it to this very day.

Under the low ceilings of one the oldest inns in Bergen, there are six different ‘caves’ with a total capacity of up to 100 people. In the meandering passages, guest will find intimate seating in rustic surroundings. The two largest rooms have beamed ceiling, whereas the others are stone vaulted. This is the ideal space for those important conversations – in a comfortable armchair by the open fire, or during informal wine tastings and meals with your friends, family, or colleagues.
