5 days Arctic Nature Camp in Signehamna in the northwestern part of Spitsbergen. During these days we'll hike the surrounding mountains, explore the glaciers and visit historical sites. We feel the location of the camp is in the most beautiful and pristine areas of Spitsbergen.
This is a 5 days camp far away from the civilization where you get the chance to feel the real untouched Arctic nature. Our comfortable boats will bring us from Longyearbyen to the North. This is not only a transport, but also a great experience where you might see and explore a large part of the western coast of Spitsbergen.
The camp is in "Signehamna" not far from the mighty glacier front of Lilliehöök glacier in Krossfjorden in the northwestern part of Spitsbergen. This harbour is surrounded by spectacular peaks and glaciers, and we will use the following days to explore these. You do not need to have experience from glacier hiking prior to this trip. The guide presents the various day trips based from the group's desires and is responsible for conducting the trips in a safe and secure manner.
Life in a camp on Svalbard is an experience in itself. We must, among other things, make sure that the Polar Bear does not visit us by surprise, so bear guard during the night is a duty for all out guests. Most think this is some of the finest experience to camp on Svalbard for then he has plenty of time to reflect speculating over most.
Before we head back to the civilization and Longyearbyen we will visit Ny Ålesund, the northernmost research settlement in the world. Here the guide will walk you around and tell the exciting story of the town.
