Visit the North Cape and experience unique alpine vegetation up close with the stunning view of the North Cape in the background. Join us on a walk through a beautiful landscape and endless ocean as we explore the rich plant life of the north.

We meet up in the center of Honningsvåg before we go by coach to a nearby village on the island, making photo stops along the way.

Then we go for a walk (approx. 20 minutes each way, comfortable pace with information stops along the way) with our guide in the direction of Kirkeporten while we take a closer look at the plants and vegetation. The island is located above the tree line and may appear barren. The vegetation however is rich and varied despite long winters. There are over 200 plant species, most of them arctic. There is no productive forest on the island, but in sheltered valleys birch and willow bushes may grow. Plant life is protected on the North Cape Plateau and some of the plants are rare and delicate, growing exclusively on the island.

Servering of warm drinks and small snacks as we explore the view of endless ocean, steep cliff coast and fjords.

Afterwards we go by coach to the North Cape Plateau and the North Cape Visitor Center*. This offers access to the panoramic movie, Cave of Lights and the historical exhibitions, and of course a visit to the epic globe at the edge of the North Cape cliff. All tickets are included*

We return to Honningsvåg by coach, the ride going through beautiful scenery.

Bring your camera and clothes suited for the weather and for hiking in the arctic.
