Take a time-out and find inner peace at SvalBad, our floating, wood burning sauna. Here you can enjoy the view of Hiorthfjellet or, if you're lucky, see the northern lights during the polar nights. If it gets too warm in the sauna, you can take a refreshing bath outside in the arctic waters of Adventfjorden.

Experience something different with SvalBad

Let the peace wash over you and relax in our floating sauna located in Adventfjorden, Svalbard. Enjoy good conversations with friends and strangers, or simply enjoy the silence and the spectacular view of our bay and the Hiorth mountains. Welcome!

Sustainable history

SvalBad is a floating sauna in Longyearbyen harbor, Svalbard.

The floating pier and the sauna is constructed with reclaimed building materials from old buildings (from Longyearbyen and Svea) and is a local collaboration between The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, LPO Architects and Longyearbyen. There is literally local history in SvalBad’s walls – and a great example of local circular economy!

Private booking or Drop-in

Book the whole sauna for up to 14 people in a group, or buy a drop-in ticket and share the sauna with up to 10 people (or just yourself, if you’re the only drop-in booked!)

→ Book your visit at svalbad.no
