Aurora Crystal Lavvo Overnight Stay

Located in beautiful Lyngen, our basecamp is surrounded by breathtaking fjords, mountains and islands. With a good distance from the city, you'll find minimal artificial light pollution — providing optimal conditions for viewing the northern lights.

Step into our Crystal Lavvo for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Sleep in a lavvo heated by a wood-burning fireplace for an authentic Arctic experience. The lavvo is equipped with a glass ceiling, allowing you to keep an eye on the sky at all times — even from the comfort of your bed.

Enjoy the freedom of spending the entire night searching for the northern lights from the warmth and comfort of your lavvo. If you're lucky, you might even catch several different “outbursts” during the night.

Transportation to Basecamp

Enjoy a scenic journey from Tromsø, including a short ferry ride with beautiful views of mountains and fjords.

Lunch: Upon arrival, you’ll be served a freshly prepared fish soup (see allergy list below) before we get ready for the activity.

Allergies and Dietary Restrictions:

We can accommodate the following upon request (please ensure this information is included in your booking — we must know in advance):

• Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free options — but not in combination (e.g., gluten-free and vegan together)
• Gluten-free (please note: we cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination due to a shared kitchen environment)

We are unable to accommodate:

• Severe nut allergies

Activity: Join a guided 2 km hike on foot or with snowshoes and explore the Scandinavian nature. Please note: the hike may be adjusted or cancelled depending on weather conditions.

Evening: After dinner, we will inform you about the northern lights forecast and light the fire in your lavvo.

Lavvo Experience: Once your lavvo is heated, one of our guides will escort you there and show you how to maintain the fire. Please note: the lavvo is heated using a wood-burning fireplace.

Enjoy: Spend the night in your warm and cosy lavvo. You’ll have the whole night to search for the northern lights — whether relaxing under the lavvo’s glass ceiling or wandering around the basecamp.

Breakfast: The next morning, we serve a traditional Norwegian breakfast before starting the return trip to Tromsø city centre. Arrival is around 11:00AM (11:00).

Pickup Information

Meeting time: 11:30AM (departure at 11:45AM )

Meeting place: Prostneset Bus, Boat & Hurtigruten Terminal (Samuel Arnesens gate 5, 9008 Tromsø)

Enter the bus terminal (1st floor), proceed to the bus platform, and look for a red bus labelled “Arctic Route.” Guides will be there to assist you. The bus is booked under your booking name.

The bus will take you to Breivikeidet, where you will board the ferry. Our team will be waiting for you on the other side, ready to transport you directly to the basecamp.

Included: Round-trip transportation from Tromsø to the basecamp, expedition meal, dinner, breakfast, coffee/tea and snacks, guided excursion with snowshoes or on foot (depending on weather conditions), thermal suit and boots, Crystal Lavvo with comfortable beds, firewood, tripods, internet connection, free use of cross-country skis (not guided)

Please bring: There is no shop or grocery store nearby, so come prepared :) We provide three meals, but any additional food must be brought by you, we do not sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own, if you wish you may bring indoor shoes or slippers, we recommend warm and practical clothing, reusable water bottle
