The beautiful surroundings include a popular park with 28 sculptures made by renowned Norwegian artists – a collection that grwos every year. The area is steeped in the history of Bærums Verk ironworks, which was in operation from 1610 to 1874, and many of the old buildings are now home to workshops with hand-made products of all kinds, including quilts, glass and furniture
Guided tours
Tours are available in Norwegian, English or German by appointment. A tour may include a visit to The Oven Museum, a unique collection of antique cast-iron ovens produced at the ironworks from the early 1700s and up to the closing of the foundry in 1964.
