Welcome to the mountain farm.
After a walk of 1.5 km, you will reach the mountain farm, where you can experience life on the farm and enjoy the stunning views beyond Snåsavatnet, Snåsa village and mountains in the national park. You might even meet the milkmaid in the middle of washing dishes or while she is cooking. There is the possibility of close contact the different animals. If you are there when it is time to tend to the barn chores, it is possible to join in. You can buy coffee and snacks or order the "møsbrømlefse" with dessert.
We welcome visits to the farm from from 28 June-27th July, but not on Mondays.
Located 5oo meters north of the junction of RV 763 to Snåsa. Take the E6 in Vegsetbakken (Mela cross). About 100 meters to parking. From there there is a 1.5 km walk along a tractor trail. Follow the signs. Transport by agreement.
Setra/mountain farm has been named Båsdalvollen by John Båsdalen from Nordli, who came to Snåsa in 1917 and took over the farm Fridheim at Vega. The farm was then sold in 1937 to his nephew, John Sagmo. The farm was actively used as a seter/mountain farm until 1956. We took up mountain farmoperations in 2010 as the fourth generation. We spent two years in preparation, with the construction of a barn and a new and larger farm house. The old farm house is still there and is frequently used.
