Helge Gjerdalen Holte started the company in what once was the former Nyseth Bakery building which had stood empty for 33 years. In May 2016 the bakery was relocated 40 m across the street in Bagn, in the old co-operative society near the bridge at the northern entrance. The Bakery in Bagn uses an old Adger-stove that is made up of bricks. In the autumn of 2015 the oven was dismantled in the disused bakery in Stokkenes (Fresvik, Sogn) and around 5 tons of bricks were transported over the mountains and re-assembled together by Einar Bakken.
The Bakery in Bagn bakes bread using recipes based on flour and water, as well as sourdough and yeast. No artificial ingredients are used in the baking of any of the products.
There is a shop in the bakery. You can also buy the bakery's bread and cinnamon rolls in Spar (Bagn), Spar (Leira), Eurospar (Fagernes), Coop (Reinli), Rema 1000 (Leira), Joker shops in Begnadalen, Hedalen, Tisleidalen and Vaset and in the Valdres Mathus.
