Mining has been an important industry in the Narvik area for centuries – at Ballangen Museum you can learn more about the unique history of the area.
Ballangen Museum is in a stately building just outside the center of Ballangen. The museum presents the extensive mining industry dating back to the 17th century. The mining and quarrying history is documented through objects and photos. The museum also displays objects from peasant culture, school and cultural life.
The museum is open during the summer season and is otherwise open on request.
