Baroniet Rosendal Avlsgård & Fruehus

Baroniet Rosendal Avlsgård & Fruehus is located just outside Rosendal Garden, which surrounds Norway’s only barony. The accommodation offers simple yet comfortable lodging in historic surroundings, open from May to September.

There are 24 rooms with a total of 40 beds, divided between Avlsgården and Fruehuset. The rooms are set in romantic, traditional surroundings, with shared showers and toilets located in the hallway.

Avlsgården was built around 1850 by estate holder Marcus Gerhard Hoff Rosenkrone. He kept sheep and Fjord horses here, and also ran a school for the local children.
In 1992, Avlsgården and Fruehuset, located 300 metres downhill, were restored and opened for guest accommodation.

Yes, breakfast is served in the atmospheric Great Kitchen (Storakjøkenet) at Avlsgården. Dinner can be booked on selected days in the Knight’s Hall (Ridderstuen) with advance reservation.
