Avlsgården was built around 1850 by estate holder Marcus Gerhard Hoff Rosenkrone. He kept sheep and Fjord horses here, and also ran a school for the local children.
In 1992, Avlsgården and Fruehuset, located 300 metres downhill, were restored and opened for guest accommodation.
Yes, breakfast is served in the atmospheric Great Kitchen (Storakjøkenet) at Avlsgården. Dinner can be booked on selected days in the Knight’s Hall (Ridderstuen) with advance reservation.
