Walking Tours:
There are several options in terms of walking tours in Bergen. We can tailor the tours specifically to your needs. On a walking tour, we recommend a maximum of 25 persons per guide. These are some examples of walking tours we may offer:
Bryggen:
Bryggen, the Wharf, is an exciting area where you get to learn how life was like in the 12th century, with Hanseatic merchants, stockfish trade and how it has changed until present time.
Narrow streets and alleys:
Are you interessted in old wooden houses? We guide your through narrow streets and passages and show you the wooden houses and cobblestoned alleys that are so characteristic of Bergen.
Famous people from Bergen:
Do you want to know more about the composer Edvard Grieg, the writers Amalie Skram and Ludvig Holberg or the private detective Varg Veum? We talk about their connection to the town and show places where they have left their marks.
Bergen’s dark side:
This tour takes you to the dark side of Bergen. You will learn about witches and scary crooks and hear exciting stories about how they were punished. Perhaps one of them are still haunting one of the old buildings?
Art and sculpture walk:
Did you know that there are several sculptures with completely different interpretations of Edvard Grieg around Bergen? On this tour you observe sculptures and art and get to know the story behind the pieces and the significance they have played for the city.
Sightseeing by bus or Limousine:
Explore Bergen by bus. The tours may of course be tailored to your needs. Here are some examples of sightseeing tours:
Panoramatour:
During this two hour tour you get a nice overview of the city’s most famous attractions. There is also time for a photo-stop and to enjoy the view.
Panoramatour including Fløien, Troldhaugen or Fantoft:
The Panoramatour may also be extended by a visit to Mount Fløien, Edvard Grieg’s residence, Troldhaugen, or Fantoft Stave Church. One should consider one hour per attraction, in addition to the two hour panoramatour, so if you visit one attraction, the tour will last three hours, while if you include two attractions, the tour lasts around four hours.
Troldhaugen and Lysøen:
We strongly recommend a combined tour to Edvard Grieg’s residence Troldhaugen and the virtuoso Ole Bull’s amazing villa at the island of Lysøen. This trip has a duration of approximately six hours.
Fjordtrips:
Hardanger:
Do you want to explore the Fjords in the Bergen region? We suggest a trip to Hardanger, which might for instance include a visit to a fruit farm, or a trip to Eidfjord and the Hardangervidda national park. We can guarantee beautiful, cascading waterfalls and amazing panoramic views.
Flåm:
We would also recommend a trip to Flåm, where you may take the spectacular Flåm Railway. This impressive train ride takes you from sea level to 867 meters above sea level. At the end station, Myrdal, you have two options: take the train back to you Flåm or continue on to Bergen. You decide!
