Bergløypa (Bergtrail) - A nice trip in the "Berg-forest" for the whole family. Enjoy nice viewpoints and idyllic bathing spots at the Hellefjord.
The trail starts at the crossroad Kragerø/Kalstad, there is space to park a few cars on the left at the edge of the forest. From here starts a signpostet path to Berg (Berg-Kragerø Museum). From the border to the farm Sanssouci you have to follow a nature trail. You´ll find small information boards about trees, plants, animals, wells and the old road system in this area. On the top of the old carriage road you´ll find a sign which shows you the way up to a nice viewpoint. Here you can take a seat on a bench while enjoying a nice view over the Hellefjord.
The Berg forest is known for crisscrossing paths. We therefore recommend to take with you a map of this area! Many paths leads you down to the Hellefjord. The Berg forest is rich in mushrooms and berries, and you will find many nice places for taking a rest.
From the Berg-Museum Kragerø (it´s possible to park your car here) you´ll find many paths for a longer trip, which leads you to nice viewpoints in the area of Valberg and Lovisenberg.
Near the museum, at the Helle Fjord, you´ll find the bathing spot Bergneset.
