Try the popular bike route from Hellesylt, across the mountains to Stryn.
The trip takes 4 to 6 hours, and goes from Hellesylt - Vollset - Flofjellet - Flo - Stryn, or vice versa. This is one of the best trips one can ride the summer. The snow is still on the mountain peaks, while it is green and lush in the lowlands.
From Hellesylt you ride into the valley to Vollset. Follow the gravel road across the mountains and down to the small and charming fruit village of Flo. Cycle along Oppstrynsvatn Lake to Sunde where you come in on the main road towards Stryn (RV 15).
The trip is moderate. There's some climb from Hellesylt to Vollset, but it's a good cycle. Flofjellet has stunning views and beautiful scenery, with waterfalls and serene lakes. You also pass several pleasant pastures.
The journey takes 4-6 hours and is about 40 km long. Its highest point is about 550 m.o.h.
By bus to Hellesylt
It is possible to bring your bike on the bus from Stryn to Hellesylt, but be aware of this: "If there is room, bikes can be transported to a child's fare, min. NOK 15."
