Camping - the 'allemannsretten' law allows you to camp anywhere as long as you're at least 150 metres away from the nearest house or cabin. You are however not allowed to camp on cultivated land.
Skåtøy church (also known as the Skærgård Cathedral) is one of Norways largest wooden churches.
Krikken Coastal Fort was one of the country's largest coastal forts during World War Two. Exploring the remains of the fort is interesting, and there is also a great viewpoint here where you can see the ocean and nearby islands.
Darefjellkollen, right by the bike rental is the highest point on the island, from here you get a fantasic view over 'Skærgården' (the archipelagos). Behind the top of the mountain you wil find the remains of an old dam used for producing and exporting ice.
Eidkilkanalen (the EIdkil canal) is a waterway that splits the island in two. You can cross the canal by bridge.
Øvre Saltbotangen is where the famous Norwegian artist Theodor Kittilsen lived from 1889 -91, and Plasshytta where he was inspired to create the 'Pesta' character shown is many of his drawings. (Pesta is a personification of the Black Death, and the scary woman living at 'Plasshytta' at the time is who the character was based on).
