Bike the Fjords - Nærøyfjorden UNESCO world heritage area

3 days cycle tour through the Nærøyfjorden, UNESCO world heritage area. Landmarks such as the beautiful Tvindefossen, the famous Stalheimskleiva, the Nærøydalen valley, and the Flåm railway are some of the attractions along the route.

This ride passes through the Nærøyfjorden area, one of the areas of the UNESCO world heritage list. Landmarks such as the beautiful Tvindefossen, the famous Stalheimskleiva, the Nærøydalen valley, and the Flåm railway are some of the attractions along the route.

This tour encompass a bike ride to Gudvangen, a boat ride to Flåm and train back to the starting point at Voss. This trip last for 3 days and comprises two night at hotel. Additional activities along the route are the Viking exhibition in Gudvangen and tasting of local beer in Flåm.

Day 1: Welcome to Voss!
We meet at the tourist information by 11.00, where we go through the bike ride in front of us. Our ride starts along small lakes past Nesheimstunet a small farm with houses from the 17th century. We enjoy a short break the Tvindefossen waterfall, known for its beauty and the water running through it allegedly strengthens the libido. After the visit, we continue our ride towards Myrkdalen fjellandsby. When we arrive Myrkdalen Hotel there is time for a short hike before we are served a lovely three-course dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 2: Experience the world heritage
After breakfast we cycle past the Oppheim Lake through many small barnyards and on to Stalheim. Here we take a short break, which may be used for lunch. The Stalheim hotel is a widely known landmark, placed innermost in the Gudvangen valley. We roll on down the Gudvangen vally, which is located at the end of the Nærøy fjord. Before boarding the boat to Flåm we have the option to visit the Viking exhibition in Gudvangen. After arriving in Flåm, we stroll along the quay to have dinner at our hotel for the night, the Fretheim hotel. There are several small shops, cafeterias and a local brewery at the quay in Flåm, and beer tasting at the dock could be added as an option on request.

Day 3: Good-bye!

We enjoy a lovely breakfast together at Fretheim hotel before we take the famous Flåm railway back to Myrdal. Here we bid our farewells when we change train to one that corresponds with our final destination. Trains from Myrdal are either going towards Oslo, or towards Bergen over Voss.
