Bingsholmsråsa is a coastal sound between Lauvøya island and Tårnes headland with a 5 km2 area of tidal zones and shallow water. The area is of great importance to geese, sea ducks, divers, grebes and auks. The shoreline consistency is alternating between mud, sand and pebbles, some places with large build-ups of rotting seaweed where insects and other small animals are found, providing an important source of food for a variety of bird species.
