Birdwatching Finnmarksvidda (resting area Áidejávri)

  •  /  km From You
Overview

Finnmarksvidda is a vast highland plateau in the interior of Finnmark. Large portions are tree-bare but the slopes and valleys are covered in birch and pine forest. It is mainly the birch-wooded parts you experience when you cross Finnmarksvidda by car. The many lakes and marshes are interconnected through creeks and rivers and lined with willow scrub, forming suitable habitats for a variety of montane birds.
