Gaulosen is a delta at the mouth of the river Gaula at the head of one of the Trondheimsfjord’s southern arms. This is the last intact – or nearly so – estuary of Central Norway and one of the very finest birdwatching sites in the region. It is a part of the larger Trondheimsfjord wetland system together with the sites further up the fjord.
