Eastern Norway Viken HALDEN

Birdwatching Halden (Remmendalen)

  •  /  km From You
Overview

The town Halden is a good vantage point for birding trips. The narrow, shallow Iddefjorden inlet is lined with reeds and can hold good selections of ducks and nocturnal songbirds. Osprey is regular, and a variety of woodland species, including Hazel Grouse, can be found in the surrounding forests. From the town centre, Black Redstart and even Eagle Owl may be heard in early spring mornings. Kingfisher is regularly found in the local river Tista. A nice place to look and listen for songbirds in spring and early summer is Remmendalen, in the western outskirts of Halden.
