Tyrifjorden is one of the largest lakes in Norway, and the northern section is among southeastern Norway’s most important wetland areas, especially for resting migratory birds of many species. The lake has several branches, of which the two in the north end, Nordfjorden and Steinsfjorden, is of particular importance to birds.
