Birdwatching Simskardmyra (viewpoint)

  •  /  km From You

In the outskirts of Børgefjell are several interesting sites, including Simskardmyra marsh between Øvre Fiplingvatn and Nedre Fiplingvatn lakes. The marshes and lakes of this area thaw relatively early in spring, providing important resting grounds for geese, ducks, Cranes and shorebirds waiting for the breeding areas at the higher elevations of Børgefjell to become free of ice and snow. Simskardmyra and surrounding woodlands have interesting breeding birds too.
