Stad or Vestkapp, the northwestern corner of Southern Norway, is a landmark mountain ridge plunging into the sea. It is an exiting area for birdwatchers, particularly good for seawatching. The best point from which to enjoy the passage of seabirds is the headland of Litlehovden near Ervik on the south side of the Stad peninsula. The village of Ervik also has a few gardens and grazing pastures, well worth checking for resting migrants.
