Birdwatching The Dokka delta (Våten tower hide)

  •  /  km From You

The delta where the river Dokka meets the north end of Randsfjorden lake is one of the most important inland staging sites for wetland species in Southern Norway. It is situated in the wooded lowlands at an elevation of just 134 metres. Even though Randsfjorden is artificially regulated, the natural condition of the delta itself is relatively intact. Two tower hides overlook the delta and gives the best vantage points for checking for Crane, ducks, Osprey, Hobby and other species. The in Norway very rare Black-necked Grebe is encountered here annually.
