Bjørnstad field
Rakkestad`s only petroglyph sight got uncovered in the summer of 1986. The images was carved inn on mountain rocks in the fields some time in the bronse age, ca. 3000 years ago.
Petroglyphs are the figurative expression for the bronse age religion. They are symbols on the values from that time. On Bjørnstad there are 28 images of ships with crew, feet, sunwheels and bowl pits. The petroglyphs are open for audience via a ca. 140m long path through the fields. They are roughly 400m south from Bjørnstad.
Driving there
Ca. 2km on Haldensveien towards Degeres and take off by Bjørnstad south. Drive 4-500m til a small parking spot in the woods before following the path through the fields on foot.
