Boksalongen Bookshop
Boksalongen is Bergen's only independent bookshop and the in-house store at the Literature House, with a focus on fiction and a full selection of Jon Fosse's works.
The shop offer a curated selection for readers of all ages, in bokmål, nynorsk, Swedish, Danish, or English. We can also order books from around the world in all languages.
We have a large selection of novels, poetry, and children's books, as well as essayism and relevant non-fiction. Additionally, you'll find a range of
Norwegian authors in English translation.
Adjacent to Boksalongen, you'll find Fosse-stova, where we, in collaboration with Samlaget, have gathered all of Jon Fosse's works, along with a
selection of used books available at affordable prices.
Boksalongen is a place for anyone looking to buy quality literature, whether as a gift for yourself or someone else.
In the Literature House, you’ll also find Colonialen Litt, a place where you can drop by for an informal drink or a meal to share. The menu features small dishes designed to be enjoyed together, preferably with a carefully selected bottle of wine, good company, and engaging conversation.
The Literature House is located in Østre Skostredet, right in the heart of Bergen city centre, just a two-minute walk from the Fish Market. Skostredet is a charming area with a wide selection of restaurants and bars.
