Bolga Brygge offers comfortable accommodation and good dining. Guest can enjoy fishing, kayaking the sheltered waters nearby, and hiking up a mountain that offers an amazing panorama of a large section of Helgeland.
Bolga Brygge is situated on the island of Bolga in Meløy municipality, in the far north of the Helgeland coast. The dominating feature of the island is Bolgfjellet, which has been a sailing mark for generations of seafarers. A scenic archipelago surrounds the beautiful island.
After your arrival, you will notice that you settle into a calm, hearing the soothing sounds of seabirds and waves washing the shore. The island provides fine opportunities for fishing and hiking. A hike up Bolgfjellet (339 m) is rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama – you would be hard pressed to count the hundreds of islands, islets and skerries in the surrounding archipelago. This archipelago, with its shallow crystal-clear sheltered waters, is ideal for kayaking. And the white sand beaches will tempt you to go ashore.
Accommodation
With accommodation at Bolga Brygge, you have the surf of waves just outside the bedroom window. As a guest, you can choose between a holiday apartment, a house or a restored wharf building. The house, with its four bedrooms, offers plenty of space for a large family or a group of friends – to be precise, 100 m2 (1076 square feet).
Each apartment has two bedrooms, with four beds total. The wharf building is quite authentic, with three bedrooms and a simple standard.
Dining
The restaurant menu gives the place of honour to seafood from the fresh local catch. The atmosphere is quite informal. We believe that for both staff and guests “the most beautiful thing you can wear is a satisfied smile”. The restaurant is open daily during the summer season.
Guest harbour and boat rental
For guests travelling by boat, Bolga Brygge has a guest dock, with access to fuel, water, electricity and sanitary facilities. The local grocery store is charming and well worth a visit, for supplies as well as a chat with the friendly locals. If you didn’t sail here in your own boat, you can rent one from Bolga Brygge and go fishing in the nearby waters. A special room is provided for cleaning your catch – and we have a freezer if you’ve caught more fish than your family or friends can eat!
