Program:
Day 1. Longyearbyen – Todalen – Skiferdalen – Grøndalen – Barentsburg
The day starts at 09:00 in the morning when your guide will pick you up from your place of accommodation in Longyearbyen and bring you to the expedition center Russkiy Dom for a briefing on safety and snowmobile instructions, and equipment fitting. The adventure begins, and you will depart to Barentsburg, a coal mining settlement in the West where you will explore how various the Arctic is. Upon arrival, warm lunch is served in the hotel restaurant and then you will go for a guided tour around the town to hear the stories of then and now and will follow the historical way from Willem Barents' discoveries to the present-day on the excursion in the ArtArctic Gallery. To summarize the impressions of the day after the excursion you’ll head to the first brewery in Svalbard – Red Bear Bar to taste local beer and have dinner. Overnight in the hotel in Barentsburg.
Day 2. Barentsburg – Colesdalen – Fardalen – Longyearbyen
This day there is an option to visit the mine of Barentsburg, an active coal mine where tours are allowed. After breakfast, there is an opportunity to visit Barentsburg Husky Center "Norddogs 78". You can even try yourself as a real musher there and go dog sledding along the shore of Grønfjorden. You may also visit a souvenir shop and post office with the interiors in the style of the XIX-XX centuries and send a postcard from the 78th parallel north. After lunch in the restaurant, you will drive a snowmobile back to Longyearbyen and upon arrival, it is time say goodbye and your guide will offer a transfer to your place of accommodation in Longyearbyen.

A valid driver’s licence for car or motorbike is required to drive a snowmobile. Remember to take it with you on the tour. The passenger do not need to have a driver’s licence.
