Bragdøya is an island in Kristiansand, just outside of the city centre.
Bragdøya is an island located in the Kristiansand fjord. It is a public outdoor recreation area covering approximately 925 hectares. The historic cultural landscape is open and accessible via old, charming roads and paths, making it easy to discover idyllic swimming spots along the southern side of the island.
Bragdøya is accessible year round by boat from Lumber in Vågsbygd, and own boat from Kristiansand. During the summer season, a dedicated bathing boat also operates from Pier 6 in the city centre of Kristiansand, with two daily departures over a six week period.
The island is owned by the municipality of Kristiansand, which purchased Bragdøya in 1969 with government funding. A key condition of the purchase was that the island should remain a recreational area for both residents and visitors.
The coastal heritage centre on Bragdøya is operated by Bragdøya Kystlag.

The programme is suitable for children aged 6 to 12.
Places for Barnas Øy are limited and must be booked in advance. Please check the website for opening hours and registration.
