Breng is located next to Lovatnet. In ancient times this a farm but were later it became a vacation place for the locals from the farm Sæten. Here there was traditional farming until around 1950. In the 1970s, this buldings was about to decay. Thanks to the great efforts of the owners and public support where Breng farm saved.

The farm Breng has been mentioned in a number of old books, the oldest dating back to 1340. Many of these stories describe the different times Breng has been taken by the avalanche or by the river.
By the 1970s, the houses and barns had begun to decay, and they started to work on the buildings to save them. It was the farmers who own the houses and the barns that did much of this work. Originally there were 14 buildings, today there are 13 of them.
Today Breng has become a popular bathing place for tourists and locals. Breng attracts tourists all year around that want to take a picture of the well-maintained cultural landscape and the beautiful buildings, as well as camping in the area. Because of this, several guidelines have been put in place to preserve the cultural landscape as a national icon.
These guidelines are about preventing inconvenience to landowners, as well as promoting an outdoor life for the benefit of everyone. To achieve this, several guidelines have been set up for the use of the area, these guidelines are about garbage handling, use of toilet, parking and also a ban on camping in the area. There is also a ban on the use of open fire in this area, this to avoid damage to the old buildings on Breng.

Description for the map (picture 2):
The area labeled A includes the total area for which the regulations apply, including areas B, C and D. Area B is a publicly accessible bathing area, and Area C is an adapted short-term parking for
bus and car. Area D is organized as a short-term parking space.
