Lillesand

Superb prepared area for hiking, 3 km east of Lillesand town centre.
The river has a salmon ladder, and you can fish or bathe. The ruins of the wood pulp grinding mill dating from about 1890 are still visible and provide a magnificent backdrop for the walk.
Kaldvell is also the starting point for what was previously called Kongeveien, the King's road, between Kaldvell and Landvik.
Nowadays the road is called Vestlandske Hovedvei and is an excellent trail for both walking and cycling between Lillesand and Grimstad. (National Cycle Route 1 goes here).
