Buekorpsmuseet is dedicated to the Buekorps, a traditional Bergen organization with roots dating back to the 1850s.

Buekorpsmuseet was founded in 1977 and is located in Murhvelvingen at the entrance to Gågaten.

Today there are 14 active Buekorps in Bergen, consisting of around 1000 active boys and girls. The Buekorps' activities include sports and drills, excursions and social gatherings. The Buekorps are politically, religiously and ethnically neutral.

The museum's collections include items from all active Buekorps in Bergen as well as some disbanded corps. Here you can see Buekorps flags, medals, sabers, drums, etc. Various local history books about the Buekorps' activities are also available for purchase. The first rooms currently house an exhibition about "Muren", the 16th century building that houses the museum. On November 29, a new exhibition about the Værftets Kompani, one of our disbanded corps, will open. In the back rooms there is a changing exhibition, which is put on by the active Buekorps in the city on a rotating basis.

The Buekorpsmuseet has free admission, and it is also possible to book guided tours for groups with prior registration. The Buekorpsmuseet also organizes lectures and city tours. These are continuously announced on the museum's website.
