Myrdal
Café Rallaren is located 867 metres above sea level at Myrdal Station. This is the junction where the Flåm Railway joins the Bergen line.
High in the mountains, 867 masl, you will find Cafe Rallaren beautifully located at Myrdal Station
– at the top of the world-famous Flåm Railway.
Surrounded by dramatic scenery and fresh mountain air, it is a unique stop for travelers, cyclists, and hikers alike.
Cafe Rallaren serves both hot and cold dishes and holds a license to serve alcoholic beverages. The kitchen often offers traditional Norwegian specialties such as sour cream porridge and homemade soup. The selection varies from day to day, which means these dishes are not listed on the regular menu – making each visit a small surprise.
Are you planning to cycle Norway’s most beautiful bike ride along Rallarvegen?
You can order a convenient Take Away lunch package, giving you the energy you need for the spectacular ride down the mountain slopes. A stop at Cafe Rallaren before or after your bike trip adds that extra touch to the experience.
Season
The café is open from late March until late November, following the mountain season. To reach Cafe Rallaren, you must travel by train, bicycle, or on foot – there is no road access by car to Myrdal Station. That is part of what makes the visit so special. The journey itself is an experience, and when you arrive, warm food, a welcoming atmosphere, and true mountain tranquility await.
