Camp Flakksvann is peacefully located close to Birkeland, while still being within easy reach of the coast. The seaside town of Lillesand and the harbour village Brekkestø are a short drive away, and Kristiansand can be reached in about 40 minutes.
The three lavvu tents are of a high standard and equipped with a double bed, seating area, fireplace and coffee machine or kettle. A service building with toilets and showers is available, and each lavvu has access to its own bathroom. The service building also includes a well equipped shared kitchen suitable for preparing meals, which can be enjoyed privately in the lavvu or together with others in Flåderhytta.
Flåderhytta is a traditional log cabin with long tables and a fireplace, as well as a large outdoor grill area and a covered social space. Inside, you will find displays and objects related to the area’s timber floating history. Flåderhytta can be rented for events independently of the lavvu accommodation.
Guests can enjoy hiking in the Flakkeheia area or paddling on Flakksvann and the Tovdalselva. Canoes and SUP boards are included, and there is a designated swimming area in Flakksvann. For quieter moments, a wood fired hot tub with views over the lake can be booked, or guests can relax on the private terrace outside each lavvu. A small on site farm shop, Krambua, offers a selection of products, including food and drinks from local producers.
Families with children must rent the entire area, either as a group of families or an extended family. Up to two extra beds per lavvu are available for children under 12. Nearby farms with sheep and horses add to the rural setting, and books, games and outdoor play equipment are available.
