Chasing the Waterfalls of Hardangerfjord
Experience the thrill of walking behind a waterfall and getting up so close to multiple waterfalls that you can feel the cool mist touch your skin. Join Velkommen Norway on a rush-free bus tour filled with highlights.
The tour starts with a convenient pick-up at the Fish Market, right in front of the Bergen Tourist Information office. As we make our way out of Bergen by bus, the guide will entertain you with interesting stories.
As the landscape changes into forests and fjord views, we get closer to our first stop. It will be the smallest waterfall of the day, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with its beauty and fierce character. It is a great spot to take pictures, and of course, the guide will gladly help you take pictures.
The next waterfall is just a 5-minute ride away. The Fossen Bratte is an unforgettable sight. Nestled in a valley and a place of stories, you can get up close to the bottom and the top of the waterfall. At the top, you will have a great view over the valley and the possibility to visit a war monument. If you go down into the valley by following the gravel path, you can get right in front of the waterfall to feel the cold mist coming from the waterfall.
Our journey continues and brings us over a mountain plateau and through farmland to Norheimsund, a picturesque village next to the Hardangerfjord. You will get plenty of time to explore this town, have a coffee, or go for lunch. The guide will give you insider tips on how you can spend your time in this little town.
After being refreshed, we drive a scenic route next to the Hardangerfjord, partly following a route that is listed as one of the official 18 scenic routes in Norway. At our stop, you will have a great photo opportunity and the possibility to get up close with carvings dating back to the Stone Age!
On our way back, we will go to the final highlight, a walk behind the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall. Norway has many waterfalls, but walking behind one is a rare experience. While you stand safely under the rocks, you will see the water thundering down right in front of you, creating a memory that lasts with you forever.
On the way back in Bergen, the knowledgeable guide will continue to tell stories, and the bus will drop you off in the city center next to the Tourist Information.
