Climbing on Beachen

Beachen is one of Norway’s best climbing areas! It offers steep and long climbing routes with good grips, as well as technical slab routes. Almost the entire cliff is protected from the rain, but you may find the steep routes are a little moist in rainy weather. On warm summer days, it can get very hot so it’s best to climb before 14:00 or late in the evening.

There’s a nice bonfire place for a bonfire under the cliff is a nice, which is great when you need a break from climbing. The climbing area is child-friendly but please stay alert for loose stones.

The routes offer everything from long technical slab climbs to pumpfests on overhanging super routes, from short and easy to long and hard routes. The season is from early spring to late autumn.
