A pothole formed by a melting glacier
Nesvåghålo is a pothole formed by flowing water beneath a melting glacier. If you walk up behind Nesvåghålo, you’ll find a smaller pothole where the rock that carved it out is actually still lying in the hole!
How to get to Nesvåghålo
Access: From Nesvåg community centre, turn left and follow the blue markings throughout the walk.

Be aware of the sea and the tides
Nesvåghålo is situated close to the open sea. Waves, tides and slippery rocks can make the area dangerous, even when the sea appears calm. Keep a safe distance from the sea and the opening, and do not enter caves or narrow passages if the water level or weather is uncertain.
NB: If the sea is rough and the weather is wet, you should not go there, as it can be dangerous.
