Coasteering is a fantastic experience of nature in the sea right outside Ålesund town centre. There will be excitement and challenges along the way, and you are guaranteed to get wet!
Coasteering is about experiencing the sea, the coast, and the shore in a new and exciting way. With a wetsuit, helmet, and life jacket, you will be ready for a unique experience. You will swim, jump, and dive throughout the day.
The coasteering takes place close to Tueneset, 10 minutes by car from Uteguiden's base in Ålesund and next to the aquarium Atlanterhavsparken. Here you start with a safety review before you are up and running and ready to jump into the sea.
Tueneset coasteering
At Tueneset there are exciting formations which will provide cool experiences in the sea. The best thing is – the uglier the weather, the cooler the trip! This is a perfect activity on days with rain and wind, and Ålesund has lots of it.
During the trip, you will not only get to feel adrenaline and excitement, but also learn about the surrounding sea life.
Will you have to dive or jump into the sea? No, you do not need to dive into the sea, nor jump from cliffs to get a good ride! Each trip will be adapted to the group's desires, and for those who want it, there are challenging opportunities.
What to bring
For better warmth and comfort, it is nice to wear wool underwear under the wet suit. Feel free to bring a thin wool beanie and a buff if the day is cold. Remember to also bring dry underwear to wear after the trip. A small towel might come handy.
Equipment
All necessary equipment is included. You will be provided with a wetsuit, wet jacket, shoes, life jacket and helmet.
Limitations
Family trip with children from 7 years
Normal physical condition
Must be able to swim.
Be sober – it is not allowed to enjoy alcohol before the trip or along the way
See Uteguiden's safety rules for detailed information
. You are obliged to read the safety rules and submit a self-declaration form to participate in the courses and trips.
