Fisterbu is located in a popular hiking area in Fister, Hjelmeland. From the cabin, you have a magnificent view of most of the Ryfylke islands.
When driving on the RV13 between Årdal and Hjelmeland, turn towards Fister. When you reach the grocery store, follow the signs to Fister skule (Fister School).
You can park at the school and walk up Solbjørvegen to the hiking trail at Fladamark. It's relatively steep to the starting point, but the road has switchbacks that make it not feel as steep as it is.
Alternatively, you can drive to the parking lot at Solbjør and walk the gentle road downhill to the hiking trail.
The trail through the forest from Fladamark to Fisterbu ascends steadily without being very steep. Fisterbu is located at 385 masl.
