Sluseporten Båt Café and Bakergaarden Café are located in culturally historic surroundings in pleasant Ørje. In summertime, the Båt Café is the village's gathering point, and serves summer dishes made from good ingredients. The popular Båt Café attracts guests from far away. Båtcafeen is ideally located, practically in the beautiful Halden canal, not far from Ørje locks. Here you can sit and enjoy the view of the canal. Bakergaarden is further into the city centre - a popular cafe that serves good home-made dishes and a large selection of yeast baked goods and cakes . They have a great back garden where you can enjoy delicious dishes.

On the south side of Ørje locks are the Halden canal museum - Here the natural and cultural history of the waterway and the biological diversity in forests and waterways communicated through film, photos, objects and a number of models. You also get a presentation of the area's rich wildlife. The museum conveys history and culture from forestry, timber floating and wood processing. Canal builder Engebret Soot (1786–1859) and his works are central; The Otteid Canal, the Grasmo Canal and the Halden Canal.

After the Halden canal was canalised, steamboats began to run on the waterway. In recent years, several of the old boats have been restored, which is why Ørje has gained a unique steamboat environment. Several of these boats are normally located along the wharf outside the museum in Ørje.

In the same building as the museum, you will also find Gallery Ørje Brug with various exhibitions during the summer.

After good information at the museum, we head to sweeden  in the east - and do some shopping and time on our own. Right on the other side of the border you will find the town of Töcksfors. In Töcksfors you can find, among other things, 2 shopping centers - Handelsparken and Thon shopping center as well as a small town centre.

Then we turn west to Norway again and Rømskog. The day ends at
Rømskog Spa & Resort. The hotel is fantastically located practically in Vortungen. Here a delicious, tasty dinner is served. The hotel has 44 rooms if overnight accommodation is desired.
