Welcome to DNT Finsehytta Cabin
Finsehytta is a fantastic starting point for trips both southwards and Hardangervidda and north into Skarvheimen The cabin is centrally located between Hardangerjøkulen and Hallingskarvet With trains almost at your doorstep, Finse is the place for ski trips until well into May. There are 177 beds in 2-6 bed rooms and dormitories.
Opening hours.
Finsehytta has a long season in both summer and winter. When Finsehytta is open with service, the self-service area is closed for use.

Rallarvegen, day trips, cabin-to-cabin, glacier hiking and more. From Finsehytta the hiking possibilities are endless!
History
Finsehytta was taken over from the Directorate for Hostile Property in 1947 by the Norwegian Tourist Association (DNT) and has been run as staffed tourist cabin since 1949. Today it appears as one of the most important tourist cabins for DNT.
Finsehytta winter is linked to all activities that have to do with snow, skiing and glaciers.
How to get to DNT Finsehytta
Access is by train to Finse station. From there it is a 300 meter gravel road to Finsehytta. There is a small steep hill down from the station (see picture). The main cabin has a ramp up to a ledge in front of the entrance. The entrance door has a threshold of 11 cm and a clear width of 87 cm.
