Join us on a dog sledding trip in the beautiful Reisa Valley, the gateway to the Reisa National Park. On this exciting three-hour trip, you will experience the mighty valley landscape while being pulled by eager huskies.
We take you on a three-hour dog sledding adventure, during which you can experience the beautiful nature in the valley in interaction with a team of sled dogs.
Reisadalen in North Troms is a large and beautiful valley with an abundance of snow in winter and beautiful views of the steep mountains and the gateway to the Reisa National Park.
On arrival, you will be given safety instructions and shown how to control a team of 4-6 dogs. We will also provide you with a warm thermal suit, winter boots, woollen hat and mittens. Remember to bring suitable warm outdoor clothing. We also recommend woollen under garments, a fleece jacket and warm socks. The warm thermal suit is designed as an outer layer. When everyone is ready, we set off. One person sits on the sled while the other is the musher, the one who “drives” the dog team.
The part of the valley where our trip takes place is virtually flat, making it ideal for novices too.
The trip will take you to our wilderness camp, where we will serve you a hot lunch and tea/coffee. We provide a vegetarian alternative. The wilderness camp includes a heated cabin and an outdoor toilet.
After the break, we will continue our dog sledding trip. The person who “drove” the dog team will now sit on sled, so the other person has a chance to be the musher.
The duration of the trip is approx. 3 hours.
Departure time:
- Day trip: 10.00 – 13.00 (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
- Afternoon trip 15.00 – 18.00 (3 p.m. – 6 p.m.). As it’s dark during this time from November to February, you will receive a headlamp to use during the trip.
Please meet up 15 minutes before the stated departure time.
Included: Dog sledding trip, guiding, hot meal, warm winter boots, warm thermal suit, hat and mittens
When it’s dark outside, we will also provide headlamps.
You should wear suitable outdoor clothing. We also recommend woollen undergarments or similar.
Level: Moderate, dog sledding is a mildly physically challenging activity
Group size: min. 2 / max. 10
We reserve the right to cancel your booking if you have booked alone and we don’t have other bookings for the trip in question.
Location: Riverland Huskies is situated 12 km from Storslett. Follow the road up the Reisa valley to Reisadalen 1126. You will find us on the left-hand side of the road just after crossing the bridge. You will find us in the white house.
Please note that you will need to provide your own transport to Riverland Husky as we don’t provide a pick-up service.
