Combine a dog sledding adventure with a guided tour of Tromsø Ice Domes with the chance of visiting our small herd of reindeer located outside of the ice hotel.
This tour is conducted by Camp Tamok & Ice Domes.
Camp Tamok & Tromsø Ice Domes, are located in the beautiful Tamok Valley, a 90-minute scenic drive away from the city center of Tromsø.
Upon arrival at the camp, you will first set off on your dog sledding adventure. We will provide warm winter clothes and other required gear for your dogsledding activity. Our guides will then give thorough safety instructions and a practical demonstration on how to steer your own sled.
Once you are ready, you will embark on your journey: Two people will share one sled and a dog team. One is the “musher” (driver) while the other can sit back and enjoy the ride. (If your group includes children, please kindly note, that each child must be accompanied by an adult.)
You will get the chance to switch places midway during the 10 km dog sledding trail. Depending on snow conditions, we will spend up to 1,5 hours to complete the trail.
After the dog sledding activity, we will serve lunch and your adventures will continue with a guided tour at the Ice Domes. Get to marvel at the incredible ice sculptures and snow carvings, learn about the construction process of the domes and the impact the snow has for all life in the Arctic, and have a non - alcoholic ice shot at the ice bar.
As part of this combination tour, there will be some free time to walk around by yourself and visit the reindeer that are herding next to the ice domes. Eventually, your daytime adventure has come to an end, and it will be time to board the bus and return to Tromsø city center.
