Basecamp Explorer have a 90 huskies that eager to take you out on a trip while in Svalbard. On this adventure you will learn how to handle your own team of six dogs. They all have their own names and a friendly personality.
The Alaska huskies are the most social animals in Svalbard, and we give them just as much love and attention all year around.
Dogsledding with Basecamp is more than standing behind a sled of dogs. You will participate in the full experience of harnessing the huskies, steering the wagon wheel and socialise with them before and after the run. We will teach you all the basics and supervise you as we go.
The adventure is finished up with a warm drink in our trapper’s hut, and in good weather we can enjoy the snacks under a sun that never sets.
