Within walking distance of the centre of Haugesund, you will find Dokken open-air museum.

Dokken open air museum – a green open area surrounded by a number of small buildings, provides insight into the fascinating history of the days of the herring fisheries, and how people lived between 1850 and 1950.

During summer, Dokken museum’s buildings are open to the public. The museum is closed during the winter months but the beautiful area around the buildings remains open and is well worth visiting.

Dokken museum is particularly suitable for children, with exciting exhibitions and activities for children of all ages. The green outdoor area in Dokken is a wonderful play area and a great place to take the family. Tickets can be purchased in the information building and include a guided tour of the buildings.
