Overview

Welcome to Dravlanseteren Summer Mountain Farm!
The summer mountain farm is situated in idyllic surroundings with a beautiful view over Snåsa and Lake Snåsavatnet. On your way from the parking area, you will pass Lake Bjørnsjøen - perfect for a cooling swim or trying you luck at fishing.

Dravlanseteren Summer Mountain Farm is today a modern mountain farm with perfect opportunities for families and children to experience life at a mountain farm. There are various activities that the children can engage in while the adults relax with a cup of coffee. The farm has many animals; cows, horses, rabbits, chickens and dogs.
If you are visiting when the barn work is done, you are most welcome to participate in barn chores, like the milking, feeding and separation of milk.

Dining:
We offer coffee/refreshments with a snack or dinner (dinner must be booked in advance). We serve sour cream porridge, cured ham plate and if the baking oven is lit, it is possible to order stone baked pizza. Pizza evenings are also advertised on our facebook page.

Dates for 2023: 1. - 31. July

Directions:
Dravlanseteren summer mountain farm is centrally located in Snåsa, just 10 km from the E6 and 7 km from the train station. Drive past Snåsa Hotel, take the exit to the left towards Dravland, until the end of the road. Park next to the sign. From the parking it is 2 km to walk along a dirt road - the road is also suitable for biking.

The mountain farm is located just on the tree line, where the terrain changes from spruce forest to more open terrain with marsh and pine forests.

From the mountain farm it is just 2 km to walk to lake Okssjøen.It's a nice walk through easy terrain, the fish are not as large, but it is more than willing to bite, you are almost guaranteed to catch fish. Recommended especially for families with young children.

Fishing license:
Fishing licenses can be purchased at Snåsa hotel, which you pass on your way here. If you do not have fishing equipment, you can hire from us. We also have a small boat for rent.

Opening hours TBC

Outside of the season:
We welcome groups of 10-15 people. We offer "easy outdoor living" with a taste of the mountain farm life.
We tailor arrangements according to your wishes.

Some possibilities:
Summer/autumn:
- Fishing trip ( guided/non-guided) to Lake Okssjøen with lunch prepared and consumed around the fire. Lunch at the mountain farm before going out for a hike. Activities in the farm area (bow and arrow, frisbee golf shooting with air rifle, nature trail etc.) Dinner is available when you return from the fishing trip.).

Winter:
We announce on Facebook when we are open and serving meals and refreshments. Dinner must be pre-ordered, but for coffee is available on a drop-in basis. We have seating both inside and out.

Snowmobiles can be rented at Snåsa Hotel. We are close to several miles of recreational trails, so the opportunities to experience the nature from the snowmobile are great. If you prefer to skiing, the mountain farm is a good starting point for those who want to ski in terrain where there are no groomed trails. Skiing to Lake Okssjøen with ice fishing and bonfire in the spring sun is a wonderful experience.
